Hello Jane,
We will look into it. Are you able to send/ receive email without any issues when AVG Email shield is disabled?
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Components -> email shield -> turn it off, check the status and turn it on.
Again, go to Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Troubleshooting -> uncheck "Enable AVG Self Protection module" and check the status.

I receive an 'Internet Security Warning' saying the security certificate cannot be verified and that the target principal is incorrect when I attempt to add new email addresses to a new computer.
Settings are the same as my other email addresses using the same server settings that have been sending and receiving email for sometime now.
Clicking to 'use the server' and 'installing the certificate' does nothing as when Outlook is closed and reopened, the security message again pops up.  Uninstalling and re-installing Outlook does not solve the problem.
Evidently, the 'Certification path" is AVG Web/Mail Shield Root.  Are there AVG settings that need to be cleared or accommodated?
Again, the current established server settings work successfully on my other email accounts and I do not receive a 'security warning' popup for these addresses.  A Microsoft and Hostgator 'Chat', with the two entities chatting with each other yielded no successes to stop the security pop up and sync the 3 email accounts which I am attempting to add to my Outlook.  Your help appreciated,
Jane

Thank you for responding, Ranjani.
I've followed through with your suggestions and still find the pop ups when I open Outlook.
