Email no longer working

Hello Fernand,
We are sorry that you are unable to work with Thunderbird with AVG enabled in your PC. Please try to follow below step and check if Thunderbird works fine in your PC with AVG enabled.
Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the Network profiles from Public to Private.

As of today it is no longer possible to send or receive mails.
Using thunderbird 52.1.1, windows 10. To our knowledge nothing was updated today except maybe virus definitions.

Disabling firewall and E-mail protection temporarily allows to send and receive mails again, but that is unsafe and inconvenient.

The firewall log doesn't show anything being blocked with this regard and the rules show mozilla thunderbird as allowed.

Any suggestions?
