Email: Not Protected

Hi,

I'm running Windows 7 SP1 + latest updates + AVG Antivirus Free and Comodo Firewall.
I have experienced one or two times that I came home and my PC was frozen up, I couldn't do anything. Only Firefox and Thunderbird where open.

Since a couple of days I get an error in the AVG panel:

AVG panel
    - Email: Email Protection component is not active.
    - Email Not Protected
Email panel
    - Not Fully Functional
    - Email Scanner is not fully functional

I tried everything to resolve this issue, read every article, forum post. I can't get it to work.

- Fix Email Scanner
- repaired AVG installation
- reinstalled using remove tool
- cleaned registry
- added the whole AVG folder as trusted application in Comodo
- added avgemca.exe as trusted file in Comodo
- tried adding my own email servers (with different settings)
- tried start/stopping AVG services

nothing gets this Email component back to work.

What can I do to solve this ? Can anyone help me out please ?

I'm afraid if I can't get it solved soon I'm gonna have to look at another sollution. Because honestly, when AVG works it's great, but when something goes wrong … It's hell to get it fixed and there is zero feedback from the program itself.
