Yesterday evening I took my computer back to another date which fixed the problem for a couple of hours until AVG updated again. I need a simple fix please, very annoying

Regrettably, with recent 22.7 & 22.8 Antivirus (Windows) updates, we encounter multiple issues with the Email Shield related to sending/receiving emails via 3rd party email clients (MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird…). The developers are investigating the incorrect behaviors.
Please follow the below steps and then check if it helps:
(Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Basic protection - Email shield - Disable scan for incoming emails or outgoing emails).
