I'd request you enable Internet connection sharing mode in the AVG firewall and check if the issue is resolved.
Open AVG Internet Security, click Menu -> Settings -> Basic Protection -> Enhanced Firewall. On the right-hand side, enable the Internet connection sharing mode.

I am using a photo software that keeps getting blocked from Enhanced Firewall even though the application is "allowed" for " all directions"
I'm trying to use mobile sync, and when I drop the enhanced firewall, my mobile connects, but when I turn it back on, it disconnects.
Please help I'm at my wits end

Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, I tried your suggestion and it still failed to connect without dropping "Ehanced Portection."
I guess I'll just have to do that in order to do what I'd like.
