Enhanced firewall is preventing internet access

Please enable 'Internet connection sharing mode' in AVG firewall settings and let us know if the issue is resolved.
Open AVG Internet Security, click Menu -> Settings -> Full Protection -> Enhanced firewall. Then tick the checkbox against 'Internet connection sharing mode' to enable it.

I recently started having problems accessing the internet on Google, IE, and Mozilla Thunderbird (email). It was initially intermittent and sometimes I could disconnect from my DSL modem and reconnect and it would work. At all times the Network and Sharing center showed that there was an internet connection. Eventually, that wouldn't work anymore and I realized that if I disabled the Firewall that things returned to normal. I'd really like to utilize the Firewall and hope that it's just some setting that I could change but I need some guidance. I've had  AVG Internet Security for a few years now and just recently renewed my subscription which seems to coincide with when these problems started. Any hints? Thanks
