Enhanced Firewall Question

I have the same issue, with backgrounddownload.exe
I also use AVG for many years and the problam started in the last cople of monts.

as more experinced user i want see if there is new piece of sw communicating in/out on my PC. But if i know the process then why there is an option "Rememebr my answer" when its not working? Why does AVG, since AVAST takeover, starts to behave as alzheimer patient?

I have the same issue with "backgroundTaskHost.exe", and i did fresh installation of Win10 and fresh AVG installation too.

I'm sorry for delay in responding to you. We request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Internet Security 2017. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After the computer reboots, please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection) to download/install/activate AVG Internet Security.

AVG Firewall keep asking me various Enhanced Firewall Questions (EFQs) several times, without remembering my answer, even though I am answering them every single time.
Annoying part is, these EFQs are related to the routine windows OS tasks. Everyday morning when I start my system, these EFQs welcome me on the screen, not just one, may be 3 or 4. Sometimes even more. This goes on throughout the entire day. The 'Remember my answer' check box is always checked.

Details of my AVG Internet Security (2018) as given below:
Software Version: 17.83036
Virus Definition Version: 171116-10

Please show a resolution for this annoying problem.

Could you let us know the current version of AVG installed on your PC and what is the status of the issue?

Hi Avishai,

This could happen when 'Ask' option is set on AVG Enhanced Firewall.
Please open AVG Internet Security program.
Click on "Menu->Settings->Full Protection->Enhanced Firewall'.
In enhanced firewall, if you see any option set as 'Ask', click on it and select 'Auto-Decide' from it.
This will ensure that AVG firewall automatically decides which communication to be allowed or blocked. 
This option won't ask user's permission to allow/deny communication each time.

Thanks for your reply on the isuue. I have bought this current version (AVG-IS 2018) recently (on 11-06-18). Before installing this I uninstalled my earlier version (AVG-Zen) using AVG Remover only. So I am guessing that repeating the same again doesn't make much of a use. Besides, this issue I reported was there even in my earlier version of AVG. Find attached is one of today's EFQ. Please try find the root cause.
