Recently on my Windows 10 (professional) machine, avg free (zen) kept turning off. In my windows program menu it said that the program was unable to work on my computer. When I tried to uninstall it (the wrong way) I got the 0ex0010058 message. I went on the web and got the removal tool and ran it. Great news AVG gone but the news was about to get even worse!!!
I decided, because I love AVG, I would buy a subscription instead of staying with the free one. So here are my steps to install
1) Use the AVG Removal tool, remove all traces (Windows 10 Pro)
2) Restart and use the removal tool again - just to check if all gone, just for good measure, restart
3) Go to downloads
4) Double click AVG Ultimate 825
5) Error 0xe0010058 comes up
6) Enter into a state of frustration!!!
Any advice that doesn't include 'have you run the removal tool' appreciated. Thanks
