Hello Matt,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Could you let us know whether it is AVG PC Tuneup trial you ran or you ran maintenance by clicking on Fix performance in your AVG Anti Virus? We would also suggest you to check for a Microsoft security update that was recently installed and uninstall it to check if the issue is resolved.
1. Please follow the steps below after you disable Windows Updates.
2. Open Control Panel.
3. Open Program & Features.
4. Click "View installed updates" on the left-hand side.
5. Find recent security update that was installed before the issue has happened.
6. Uninstall that update and restart you PC (may take a very-VERY long time to configure).
7. Reconnect to the internet.
Feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.
I recently installed AVG on my desktop. It is a dell running windows 10. I ran the PC tuneup from AVG and after the computer restarted almost all of my desktop icons (including AVG) will not open and I get an error on each of them 0xc00000e5. Has anyone had this issue and how can it be fixed because I cannot even uninstall AVG.
