Hello Lyle,
I understand the inconvenience.
Yes, if the PC is running on windows XP service pack 3 then AVG can be installed on it.
Please follow below mentioned steps to update Google DNS address:
1. Please press Windows and R key simultaneously and it opens Run command.
2. Then type "ncpa.cpl" without the quotes in it and click on OK button.
3. In Network connections window, please right-click the connection you use, and select Properties.
4. Double-click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item on the Networking tab.
Help, I purchased Unlimited Tuneup and Internet Security but when I attempt to install on one of my XP Service pack 3 machines, I get Unexpected error Sorry,we've run into a problem during installation. (Error code 0xc007001d) this is my second post on this issue. On my first post I received an answer suggesting i run AVG clear, then Avg remove and try again. It did remove the free AVG protection I had installed, but upon attempting to re-install either the Ultimate Internet security or the tune-up I am getting the same error code again. As I mentioned in my previous post, this machine has Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with service Pack 3 installed, AMD Athlon XP2500+ 1.83GHz processor and 2GB Ram. I have 71GB free space on the hard drive.
Is it possible to run these programs on this machine.or am I just wasting my time trying?

- Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window. Click OK.
6) Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4.
7) Click on Apply and Ok.
Try installing AVG Internet Security Unlimited as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection
It should activate both AVG Internet Security and TuneUp subscription. Keep us informed about the status.
Thank you for the information.
I appreciate your efforts.
In this case please get our additional support in fixing the issue for which an email instruction has been sent.
If the email is not found in inbox do check in spam and junk folders.
The TCP/IP was set to obtain DNS automatically as was blank with no particular address set.
I set the DNS addresses
8.8…8.8
8.8.4.4 and re-ran the Internet_Security_1824 self extractor as administrator.Still results in Error Code 0xc007001d
