Matthew, Your previous Antivirus software?.. Did you download & run the appropriate total removal tool?.

On attempting to install AVG Antivirus (Free Version) numerous times, I receive the following error code as shown below:

Error code: 0xC0070643
Description: Event exec_finished

Prior to installing AVG Antivirus, I had uninstalled my previous Antivirus software.  Can you please advice me on how to proceed?

Matthew, I edited the tool link in my previous posting to the latest. Did you use that one?.

Alan. I have used you edited tool link in your latest post and the outcome was the same.

If it helps, I'm using Windows 8.1 and and the system type is a 64-bit operating system.

What would you advice next?

Thanks for your speed response Alan.  

My previous antivirus software was McAfee.  I haven't downloaded and run a total removal tool yet. What would you advice to use?

Hi Alan and Rajarajan,

After following both your set of instructions and Alan's link to the recommended post, I was sucessful in installing AVG Antivirus Free.

Alan.  I have downloaded and run the Mcafee total removal tool.  

I have attempted to install AVG Zen again, and I'm still greeted by the previous error code.

Error code: 0xC0070643
Description: Event exec_finished

What would you advice next?

Alan, my preference is for the AVG Antivirus (Free Version), but the installation does refer to it as AVG Zen as shown in the screen shot below.
