Error code: 0xC0070659

Hello AVG team,

I encountered a similar issue as the above.
The error message during installation was as follows:

Installation Failed
Sorry we've experience a problem during initialization.
Description: General error (0x0659)
Error code: 0xC0070659

Can you kindly advise me on the remedy?

I have the same issue and I think I submitted it to the community but do not see it so reposting it here.

We had the trial version of AVG File Server Edition and it expired before we purchased a key.  I have tried unsuccessfully to reinstall the program (and key) as I get the following error (which I have seen many others have had) and cannot get it installed.

Description: General error (0x0659)
Error code: 0xC0070659

I followed all the instructions (AVG Removal Tool, Control Panel (was not there)) but still get the error. The key is correct as I get SUCCESS when I enter it in the beginning of the install.

Please let me know if you can help with this.

win 10 64 - we had the pop-up saying avg free trial was ended.  We had AVG free.

Subsequently trying to reinstall we get the  above error (many times).  I see that this error has existed now for several years, without a fix.

We have tried:

Running the latest avg remover (we had probs initially trying to uninstall via the control panel).
We have run malwarebytes & adwcleaner, Whilst pups were removed no bad malware.
We have also been through the registry
All fails.

What next?

Hi I am not iclined to pay to get this AVG error fixed, especially when it has been around for so long.

This and the hassle/problem of AVG spam/pop-ups, we are considering switching away from AVG.
