Hello Roussel,
We regret the inconvenience caused. To resolve the issue we suggest you to remove AVG traces using AVG Remover Tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After running AVG Remover, you may need to manually uninstall any remaining AVG applications and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install AVG Antivirus Free by clicking on http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe .Thank you.
I tried installing AVG Free on my laptop a couple weeks ago and received an error message stating it could not be installed. However, my laptop shows that AVG, AVG Protection and AVG Safeguard Toolbar IS installed on my computer. I have tried to uninstall the programs from my computer in order to re-install the program and it fails to completely uninstall. I get a message with Error Code 0xC0070643. I am able to open the AVG program, but it says my computer is NOT protected and I must install AVG. I am getting mixed messages! I have seen a forum on the AVG website in which several other people have had similar issues, but I am not sure which solution is best for my computer. Can you please help? Thank you.
