Error loading type Library/DLL. (0xC007001D)

Joe Beau,

Looks like AVG is following Micro-Suck on their policies of favouring Intel over AMD, so seeing as they are to Stupid, Inept, Incapable or Stubborn to fix the problem of us using what They class as Dinosaur CPUs and PCs like yours and mine=(AMD Athlon 2000+ on a Gigabyte board  running XP-SP3) and keeps on working while modern ones are dying just out of warranty. They can Stick AVG right whre it fits and ill go elsewhere and well let the BAD Reviews Haunt them till they go Broke, Eastern Technical Developers meet Western Users = Company Losses and a Very Bad Reputation…

Seriously, AVG, you have and are hurting your credibility as a serious company. I looked this up because on my old "server" that I use for backups, I put your free AVG, also. And it has been coming up with this same "you need to upgrade" crap. As explained in this thread, your brilliant programmers decided to dump SSE2 support and clearly without bothering to tell your customer support staff.
What would it take for you to put out a version of AVG 2015 that does NOT insist upon upgrading if it is running on a SSE2 machine? And just runs as it should? And tells you what the problem is instead of giving a stupid cryptic error message, like "we are too stupid to quickly tell you that we changed our software to NOT run on your machine, so please spend several hours researching why you are getting such a strange error. And please waste a lot of our support staff time because we won't tell them, either, OK?"
Geesh guys, behave like a real company and spend 5 minutes at least trying not to waste your customers time, your customer service staff money and try to put some decent reasonable spin on things.
I cannot turn off your insistance upon upgrading. So, my choice is to get mad and pull AVG from all my machines or ignore your message on this server since I rarely log in directly. There are other antivirus choices, I'm running 3 different ones because I don't trust any one of you guys to not do what AVG just did, unnecessarily turned off support for some class of user.
So, how is it now? You guys continue to think that just because someone is using an old machine that has run perfectly well for years that they aren't a customer with other machines, too. You don't mind leaving them high and dry and wasting time on things that you know and could have easily let them know so they don't waste a lot of time. How about fixing that and behaving like a real company?

I also replied with this information to the email . Let's hope a solution can be found soon.

Hello Peter,
Please run AVG remover tool : http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to completely uninstall your AVG program from your PC. Once uninstalled please click on the link http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_x86_694.exe to install the free version of the Antivirus.
Thank you.

No, that doesn't work tried re-instaling twice now and still getting Library/DLL. (0xC007001D) error message.

Total waste of time…and now, by following your instructions, the situation is even worse as my PC now has no antivirus loaded…consequently I need a very quick fix/solution for this problem.

I spent hours on this. I get the error message no matter what I do to load a newly bought AVG Internet security and again when I to load AVG PC Tune Up.
Anyone know what to do.
Thanks.
Iain

I found it on this page: Standalone (Offline) Installer of AVG 2015 (All Products)

The specific file I used is:  http://files-download.avg.com/inst/av/avg_free_x86_all_2015_ltst_222.exe

It upgraded itself to the most current version of AVG 2015 and stopped there.  If you have an SSE1 class CPU, AVG 2015 is the highest version you can install as of this writing.

From the "For Whatever it's worth AVG Free Department":  My older XP PC's that have an SSE1 class CPUs are currently running AVG 2015.0.6173 and are receiving database updates and ARE NOT nagging me to update to AVG 2016. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.

My newer XP PC's that have an SSE2 class or better CPUs are currently running AVG 2016.0.7227 and are receiving database updates. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.

Hello Kishore,

Is AVG working at this problem?

Please an answer.

Thanks Peter

Hello Kishore,

I have the same problem as David ("Error loading type Library/DLL (0xC007001D)" I also running Windows XP Professional Version 2000 Service Pack 3 (32 bits). At the moment I have on my computer AVG Free version 2015.0.6173. When I start my computer I got a popup to upgrade AVG. But when finished downloading the error message appears.
Please sent me also the solution for this problem.

Thanks

Hello Guillaume,
Please be informed that the current CPU is not support as it does not have SSE2 instruction set. Have a look at the following artilce https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_XP_microprocessors.
Your patience is much appreciated.
