Error message on my pc

i think it has only happened when i hit send/receive on my email.  i will try to notice but i don't think it happened when i opened AVG

i keep getting this error message on my pc…this is the first part of the message:
"The server you are connected to is using a secuity certificate that could not be verified…"
what does this mean?  what should i do when it asks if i want to continue?
