In this case, I request you to repair AVG (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG) and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if your AVG program is working fine. If the issue still persists then please share a screenshot of the error message and also let us know your Windows XP computer Service pack (right click on My Computer > select properties). I get an error message UI FAILED TO START. I tried restarting didnt help. Have cleared my cache and cookies, didnt help. So I went to your trouble shooting section. It told me to go to RUN and type in services.misc. I did, I dont have one. It says cannot be found. What next please to get this sorted? I currently have XP on this computer (long story) Thanks!

In this case, you can completely remove all the traces of AVG http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product completely from your computer and reinstall the latest version of AVG. If you face any difficulties, please provide us the screenshot(http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the error message you receive from AVG.
