I am using the free version
Hi
Thanks for this but i have done this process 3 times before. But to humour you i have repeated again and still will not install. Yes i removed 2 programmes out of the C drive manually too.
Any other ideas?
Hello Liz,
Please try to install AVG from safe mode and see if that fix the installation issue.
Thank you.
Hello Liz,
Thank you so much for the information. We request you to make sure if you had used the latest version of 'AVG Remover Tool' and the installation file by following these instructions. Please remove conflicting antivirus products if any (http://avgread.me/1K1IqEh) and then remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually delete any remaining AVG files and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install your AVG Antivirus Free by clicking on http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe .Please share the status here in this forum. Thank you.
Hello Liz,
Thank you for the information.
If the issue still persists, we suggest you to restart your computer in safe mode and try to install AVG Free in safe mode and see if that fix the issue. And make sure that there is no other third party security software installed in your computer. Please click on this link for the steps to restart the computer in safe mode http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode
Thank you.
