Hello Chris,
I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. I would suggest you to run repair installation of AVG to fix the UI issue. To repair your AVG please follow these instructions:
Go to Start -> Control Panel.
Note: Click Settings first if Control Panel is not available in the Start menu.
Open (Programs) -> Programs and Features, or Add or Remove Programs.
Select AVG Protection in the list of programs.
Click the Change or Change/Remove button.
Select Repair.
Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation.
Restart your computer.
When I open AVG and try to launch the Internet Security UI to run a scan I get the following message instead. Just ran the virus update and rebooted. What's going on?
"UI failed to load. This is embarrassing. Your protection is running, but the UI is having a really bad day."
Seriously, this is not a helpful error message…
