Error: Your protection is running, but the Ul is having a really bad day

Same issue here:  I am using the AVG Free. Nightly scans then set to shutdown.  The scan will and then the error message appears "This is really embarrassing.
Your protection is running, but the Ul is having a really bad day.
( EXIT )
… system should then be shut down. You may abort the shutdown if you wish b…"
I've tried Repair, Unistall and Reinstall, AVG remover and AVG Clear.  I've cleaned my resistry etc. I've set desktop programs to automatic and then back to defaul settings. Problem still exsist.  I am running it on windows 8. I have it on a Windows 7 laptop with no issues.

Issue was resolved with recent update.

Fred,
We appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.
We have performed all the basic troubleshooting steps as still the issue remains unresolved, we need logs to analyze the root cause of the issue. We have sent you an email with the steps to follow, please check and revert us to assist you further.

Fred,
Thank you for waiting. The error message indicates the corrupted program and we recommend you to perform a clean reinstallation to fix it.
Download and run AVG Clear & Remover tool: https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Uninstall-AVG-software to uninstall AVG completely. Reinstall AVG Internet Security as suggested here:
https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection and activate it using your activation code.
You can retrieve your activation code under AVG MyAccount.

I have a scheduled scan that runs overnight and shuts the computer down when it’s done. After the last update the scheduled scan runs but fails to shut down the system after it completes. The error message is:

This is really embarrassing.
Your protection is running, but the Ul is having a really bad day.
( EXIT )
... system should then be shut down. You may abort the shutdown if you wish b...

The last line is truncated, which may be related to the UI issue. Has anyone run into this? How did you solve the problem?

Hi Fred,

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. We need to check this with our next level support.
It might take some time to check this. Hence, we request you to allow some time.
Once we receive the info from the concerned team, we'll write back to you.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!

Hi Dinesh and Ranjani,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I did an uninstall and reinstall, but the error is still occurring.

In your reply to Bruce Hillberry you wrote that you need a few logs to investigate the issue.  Would you like my logs as well? If so, please email me the steps to gather the logs and upload them to you.

Regards,
Fred
