Thank you.
I recently found an error listed in the W10 Event log. This error occurs every 5 seconds and involves AVG IS. Listed below are information regarding the error, computer, timeline and two questions of mine.
Error
Event ID 16
Error while updating AVG Internet Security status to SECURITY_PRODUCT_STATE_ON
(error BA060000).
Computer System
Dell - Inspiron 3650 Desktop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard
64-bit OS
Windows 10 Home Edition
Timeline:
Purchased Jan. 12, 2017.
Once I got it home, I loaded AVG Internet Security and Corel Word Perfect.
The computer seemed to run just fine from boot-up to shutdown. It also seemed to accept Windows 10 and AVG updates. The AVG dashboard always showed green circles.
Then on March 13, 2017, I happened to look at the Event Log. It shows the error listed above, about every 5 seconds since I loaded IS back in January. For the actual operating times this amounts to 42,836 errors in the last seven days when I checked the event log.
I have reloaded AVG IS. This event error is no longer showing.
Questions
1. Is this a significant error or potential lack of protection? I really do not know what the error message implies.
2. Should we be concerned that both AVG and W10 ignore 100,000+ errors related to computer security and not trigger some sort of warning? If I had not looked at the Event Log, the computer would still be generating the error every 5 seconds.
