Just how dumb can software be programmed? I am amazed.
By now I expect 6 years free as apology for the frequent "inconveniences"!
Even FREE software like filezilla offer the smoothest update experience, but the $100(!!!) AVG product is a total joke (bad joke).
The most recent AVG experience (today):
- for two weeks already it showed "cannot update from email protection server" - thought they fix it, guess what, of course they don't.
- so today I thought let's update the whole program, it still(!) shows 2014 anyway. Imagine, although we PAID $100 for the newer version, AVG don't bother to show "2016".
- Guess what, of course the update failed (hey we have AVG here, the folks who NEVER got an update working)
- So then it's wasting hours of trouble-shooting ($$$$)
- Then they show "your licence key" but it's incomplete (wow!)
- Then they offer "contact us" but follow with "use the community forum" (hey, why should staff have time for you, you only paid $100!)
- Then finally you manage to update that shitty software that isn't able to update itself, and what happens? Right. It says "Restart to activate", you click OKAY, but of course AVG again does nothing. Absolutely nothing.
- So then after 20 min you decide "it should be safe now to just restart it myself" and you do just that, expecting that AFTER the restart AVG 2016 will be waiting for you, all ready, and you're "protected".
- Guess what? The system restarts, and there are two(!) AVG icons on the screen. But BOTH say "not associated, the file moved, do you want to delete the shortcut?"
- So you delete BOTH non-functioning icons, and go searching for the AVG exe yourself.
- You find the folder (of course)! But: There are many AVG exe's, and none is named sensibly such that the customer would know "hey, it's this one".
- All this time(!) NO AVG is running (AVG is the software you pay $100 for so that it's running all the time). It isn't though. It's not even there.
Oh, someone there to save me from the hospital!!!!! What a **ucking "business is AVG???

I sugggest you pass on to senior mgmt:
There wouldn't be the need for a "Remover Tool" had your folks programmed the paid-for software like filezilla, cc-cleaner, and all others program their free software!
TEN YEARS with AVG, and they still haven't learned how to program user-friendly sw. :-(
