Excel spreadsheets set to read only by AVG

Hi
AVG keeps setting my Excel spreadsheets to 'Read only'. Have checked the properties but the Read only box is clear. 
I used to get a message saying AVG had protected the file and gave me the option of accepting the changes by the app. If I did I had to reboot the system for it to take effect. I don't even get this message now so I don't have the option. Even if I change the name (Save As) it comes up as Read only next time  use it. I have to manage the files on an external drive. Very annoying!

Can anyone help please?

Please open AVG Internet Security > click on Hacker Attacks > Open Ransomware protection > allowed/blocked app > check if Microsoft office is blocked. If yes, then you can allow it.
