Excel wont save file due to a sharing violation and all files open in read only since updating avg

I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I would request you to follow the recommendations below and check if that resolve your issue:
Open AVG Internet Security.
Go to Menu ▸ Ransomware Protection.
Click the Protected Folders tab.
Remove all the folders displayed there.
Now select the Blocked/Allowed apps tab.
Remove if there is any path added in Blocked apps list.

Can anyone please help me solve this issue?
since updating AVG my Excel spreadsheets do not respond and when they do finally, I cannot add to them or change them or save as even because it says there is a sharing violation
