I have this exact same problem, and it has followed the product for at least several releases. I am a software developer and regularly rebuild executable code and test it on my system. Whenever I test it, I have to be very vigilant, as the Identity Protection usually flags the executables I build that are started by the testing, even if I have made entries in the exceptions list for the executable "regardless of location". If I am not careful, the identity protection popup co-opts the keyboard input while I am typing something else, which usually causes it to quarantine the running executable after killing the process, and makes it unavailable for me to restore.
What part of "Exceptions" don't your programmers understand? If I set a program as an exception, I expect that AVG will NOT find it to be a threat and will NOT ask me to quarantine it.
I guess I should not set my expectations too high, since AVG flagged its very own web browser filter executable as a threat and removed it.
Hi Julianne,
You can provide us with screenshot of exeption settings and detection dialog.
Thanks

Hi, I am creating a batch file daily using another batch file, the name, content and location is always the same, I have added the system32 cmd.exe as an exception and also the folder and both batch files. But AVG still removes the batch file and your diagnostic output tool freezes the PC. Can I have further help on this please. Thanks
you're lucky it won't even ask me if I want to ignore threat, it just goes into resident shiled and skips the virus vault so you can't restore the file.
AVG is just ignoring my list of exceptions. What can I do about this?
I have attached a screenshot of an example of how it isn't working.
Thanks.
Hi Joseph,
In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output.
Thanks

Hi Raf,
In order to analyze your issue please send us diagnostic output using this tool (http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe).
Thanks
