Hello community,
using AVG AV free on Win10, I regullarly face the following problem: The scanner detects an infection by mistake, I add an exception, try to open the file and get an error msg "file can't be opened because it's infected with a ..." (roughly translated from German).
Can anybody help?
Thx a lot in advance!

Is it a legitimate file which is detected as a threat?
If yes, please click on the link below to submit the file for analysis.

If the file is not legitimate, you can search for the file path and manually delete the file and monitor if you receive the pop-up.

Legitimate file is an authentic application which you use on your PC.
When a file is added to exception, it will not be scanned by AVG.
Please share us the screenshot of 'Exception files' in AVG Internet Security to clarify further.

Thanks Priyan,
sorry my English isn't good enough to doubtlessly understand what you mean by legitimate.
It's not a problem with a single exe but occurs regularly with exes that are supposed to generate certain data, possibly due to a heuristic scan. Even when I switch AVG protection off it's still not possible to access the file. Maybe I should try to rephrase my question: When I add an exception, why am I still not able to execute the file? How can I tell the AV SW that it shouldn't ever look at the file again?
