We'd be glad to assist you. It could be possible that these applications are added to protected applications in AVG Ransom ware protection settings.
To verify, open AVG Internet Security, click Hackers attack, click 'Open' above Ransom ware protection. Click on 'Blocked/Allowed apps' and check if MS Word and Excel are listed under blocked apps. If they are, remove them and add to 'Allowed apps' list.
Since I installed AVG virus protection, Both Excel and MS Word won't let me save files. I get a message that says, 'that file already exists (it doesn't). When I try to rename it, I get a message that says I can't save the file because it is a 'read only' file (it isn't). How do I get around this, or do I have to uninstall AVG to make Word and Excel work right?
