Expected AVG Services Confirmation Request

Hi.  Thanks for your time.

I've got a Windows installation of AVG.  The services I see in msconfig include:

  • AVG Antivirus
  • avgbIDSAgent
  • AvgWscReporter
These three bear the manufacturer's signature AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o

In addition, I see the following:
  • %1!s! Update Service (avg)
  • %1s! Update Service (avgm)
  • AVG Secure Browser Elevation Service
These other three are manufactured by AVG Technologies

The different manufacturer is troubling, and leads me to believe one of these sets is malware.  In addition, the naming convention of "%1!s!" seems designed specifically to deter googling of what it might be.

So I'm reaching out here to see if anyone can confirm or deny if any/all of these are legitimate, and maybe shed some light on why the naming convention is so weird, if it is in fact not malware.

Yes they are legit files from AVG.

- %1!s! Update Service (avg) is Secure Browser related
- AVG Antivirus is the main AVG service
- awgbIDSAgent is Behavior Shield
- AvgWscReporter is related to Windows Security Center - this service makes sure that Window is aware of AVG and that Windows Defender will be disabled when AVG is installed

Yes they are legit files from AVG.

Here's the screenshot I took of the windows service panel. I suspected they might not be real AVG services so I went ahead and stopped them in the meantime. 

And I'm sorry it took me a little while to respond.
