Expired certificates and lack of customer support

hi, avg is being a pain. blocking everything from loading because " certificate has expired" cant even go on most normal pages (like stephenking.com or countrymarketco.uk,) literally, normal sites its been doing it all week and blocking most things im up to date and using the free avg, but getting tempted to uninstall just so i can actually use something
customer service dont wanna know or help if youreusing their FREE service, happy to help if i pay a subscription though which is a bit pants
meanwhile it wont even let me turn it off, even through task manager,
anyone have any ideas on how to stop this issue? thanks in advance
