Had AVG anti-virus 2015-free on machine for some time.
Noticed issue after AVG UPDATE.
Right-Clicking on any item in explorer caused crash
Sequence:
1. Attempted to Update to 2016-Free (failed)
2. Used AVG removal tool to uninstall AVG
3. Explorer functioned normally
4. Installed AVG 2016-Free
5. Problem returned
6. Disabled AVG/Problem continues
7. using regedit, removed AVG entry from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*\shellex\ ContextMenuHandlers
8. Problem persists
What now?

Could you please be more specific? Are you able to open AVG Program? If so, have you tried to disable AVG Program and check whether the issue still persist as suggested by our previous technician?
May I know the name of the AVG program installed on your system?
