Did you try to add Express VPN under AVG Exceptions and then check if it helps?
Open AVG Internet Security and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
Select General ▸ Exceptions, then click Add exception.
Add an exception in one of the following ways: Type the specific file/folder path or URL into the text box, then click Add exception.

Hi, I have just bought and Installed ExpressVPN and when it is working AVG is blocking it and internet connection is lost. I have seen other posts here on the same subject dated 2019 - has there been a fix for this yet?
