FaceBook (FB) Screen TakeOver Script

Hello John,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. We always recommend to every customers not share any valuable information at any circumstances. Since you have mentioned that you couldn't remove that suspicious add from your webpage we would request you to uninstall unknown add ons from your web browsers. Please right click on the desktop shortcuts of your web browsers, click on Properties, check the 'Target' field. It should be “ C:\ProgramFiles\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” for IE and “ C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe”  for Chrome. Please check and remove if any other text is added to this path. Thank you.

My wife periodically uses FaceBook.  She recently clicked on a "suggested post" that showed a picture of a military guard at the Tome of the Unknown Soldier.  The headline was click to see what the guard did with an unruly crowd.  So – she clicked, expecting to see a short video click.  Instead, a loud claxon/horn sounded and a voice announced that the computer was infected, that all contacts and valuable information was being uploaded/stolen–that she should immediately call a telephone number–otherwise the PC would be shut-down.  I used task manager to shut down the browser. Clearly, this is a scam and I am sure the people want a credit card number.  I could not figure any method to remove this item from her FB page.  I could not find any way to report this issue to FB.

What protection does AVG provide against this type of script?
