Failed installation

Each year i install a new antivirus package, i first uninstall the older then install the new.

This year, i unistalled Kaspersky then tried to install Avg. Later, as i begin to find difficulties with installing AVG, i installed windows security Essentials. While i tried your solutions, i just disable windows essentials.

Any further recommendation?

I couldn't install my purchased AVG internet security program. Each time i try i get the error:

Description: General error (0x0643)
Error code: 0xC0070643

I kept my pc updated with the latest upates, and applied the general issues solutions, and i even tried to install the free avg product, tried an online version instead of the paid avg software CD i purchased. Still no sollution. The installation fail and give the same error!

I tried it and yet no avail!

The solution you provided was a repetition of the recommended solutions provided by the AVG site. It ensures that there are no left overs from previous AVG installations. However, the program was not installed in the first place! i just want to install it. My operating system is Windows 7 professional service Pack 1!

Could you please uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials completely and then try installing AVG program once?
