Hello Lewis, I apologize for the difficulties and inconvenience caused. I have sent you an email with necessary steps to connect us for further analysis. Thank you.
Recently AVG has been blocking "Exploit Fake Flash player (type 82)" roughly every ten minutes. It has not done this before and has recently started within the last few days (yet in this time I have installed no software or visited sites that would result in me gaining such malware). It gives no directory as to where the threat is coming from but gives a long URL which it has blocked. However, no web browser is open, nor is it active as a process in the background, so this URL is opening from nowhere.
Using CMD I pinged one domain that the exploit was coming from to obtain its IP, and created a rule in the firewall to block the site. But after a restart the exploit simply opens a completely new and different domain, yet both have so far used the following subdomain: "/FPlayer/UKWAP/auload.html?installer=Flash_Player_13_for_Other_Broswers&browser_type=KHTML&Dualoffer=false".
AVG simply wont detect the source of the threat, instead opting to block it every time the URL attempts to make a connection and presumably download adware.
There is no software on my programs list that has been installed without my permission (e.g. bundled with another program) so I'm stumped as to A) where the threat may be coming from and B) why AVG cannot remove the threat.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
