A Gatrk,
We apologize, are you sure that the file which AVG detected is a false detection? If you are sure that it is certified program, then we recommend you to add that file to the exception list http://avgclick.me/AddException. Please feel free to get back to us for any issues with AVG. Thank you!
I gte spurious detection of any .exe file in a backup of software on external hard drives with a “mythical” **Gaelicum A virus is named for which I am unable to find a single reference in a Google search. I am currently forced to stop using AVG because of this problem.
Why is this false identification occurring?
Why can I not find any reference to this Gaelicum A?
What happened to the straight forward AV without all the unwanted extras which are unnecessary bloat for many of us.
**unsure of spelling but will not reload AVG to get it.

I have used AVG for many years and am becoming a little wound up by the bloat now including giving constant offers of services I do not want whcih included the b… ZEN interface.which I bypass.
