It could be possible that McAfee antivirus came preinstalled on your PC and it is now expired.
We'd request you to check the list of installed applications and remove McAfee if present along with any other unwanted applications.
Regarding the other messages, do you receive them when you are browsing internet or randomly?

I'm receiving repeated (often 3 times in 5 minutes) messages from MaCaffee telling me my a/c with them has expired, I also get messages pretending to be from BBC says Piers Morgan has had a fatal accident. How can I stop these annoying interruptions? They have been coming for several weeks.
