Hello Harry.
We're here to help. Please note that Sensitive data shield is designed to achieve the same goal as data safe with improvements. Sensitive Data Shield scans and protects your personal sensitive documents against unauthorized access and malware. The files considered as sensitive contain your personal information which, if revealed, can compromise your privacy and identity. Sensitive Data Shield secures your private data by controlling which applications and users have access to your files.
By default, access to your documents is prohibited to users logged in to other Windows accounts in the computer. To disable this option, untick Restrict document access to this Windows account. We recommend keeping this option enabled at all times.
Hello, a while ago avg had a feature called 'file safe' this was later replaced by 'sensitive data shield'. I was wondering if it was ever going to come back as it was very useful especially as I have windows 10 home and don't have BitLocker. If not is there anything coming soon that will securely encrypt files so they can't be accessed even through another os?

Harry, the encryption of the data is not available in the new feature. You can submit your valuable feedback from within the AVG app.
Open AVG Internet Security, click Menu -> About -> Submit feedback.
The other reason is that file safe encrypted files with AES 256bit encryption and stopped physical attacks on the drive data. I found the encryption very useful as people using my pc couldn't access my files, programs couldn't see them and if someone got the drive data they couldn't decrypt them. Where sensitive data shield is auto protecting anti ransomware and blocks other users accessing files. Is there going to be a way of encrypting files so they can't be read until decrypted with a code again?
