It seems to me that AVG Internet Security and Secure VPN are not up to the job that they are intended for. I have complained in the past about these extras.
Hi Peter,
We're sorry to hear this.
I certainly understand your concern. But these popups are legitimate business campaigns from AVG. To let all our customers know about our AVG products these campaigns were started and it is for all the customers who use AVG. It is for a limited time period and if you are interested to know about those new features then you can click on it or else we do have the option to disable (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlname=AVG-Antivirus-popup-notifications) such popups.
Thank you for understanding in advance.
Hello John,
We understand your frustration. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have & we're truly sorry for the discomfort caused.
We'll certainly consider your valuable feedback & try our best to improve our products & service.
Meanwhile, please follow the below steps & disable adverts in your AVG Internet Security:
- Open AVG Internet Security
- Click on Menu > Settings > General > Personal Privacy.
- Under the 'Personal Privacy' section, you'll find offers & personalization.
- Disable/uncheck all the options under 'offers & personalization'.
- Restart your computer once & check if you still receive the campaign adverts.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Let us know if you require further assistance.
I also agree totally with Peter Tooke. I can't wait for my relationship with AVG to end, and I hope I will then stop receiving so many unwanted and unsolicited pop-ups. It also seems that if you buy what you think is protection you then get bombarded by demands and threats thatyou will not beprotected unless you subscribe to another type or higher level of protection. I mainly use my PC as a large pipe organ and sudden pop-ups in the middle of a performance or recording can be very annoying!
Nisha Sivakumar's reply is an insult, especially the last sentence... 'Thanking you for your understanding in advance'. It is AVG that needs to learn how to listen and understand how we, their customers, feel. I will soon stop being one.
