File and Folder scan detects files on a different drive

Anyone got an explanation of the original issue? Namely that a scan of the I: drive reports files on the C: drive as if they were on the I: drive.

Hi Dave,
I can definitely see how frustrating this would be. Please make sure that the detected folder is not hidden on I drive. To un-hide the files and folders, please follow the steps provided in this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files .

I have just performed a scan of a hard disk attached as an external drive. The attached drive does contain a valid installation of Windows.
When the scan completed it found a number of issues on the target drive, but AVG also tried to tell me that the folder I:\Users\MyName.…\somenastyfile was infected.
The folder I:\Users\MyName\ does not exist on the I: drive at all.
The folder C:\Users\MyName\ does exist and contains a php script that AVG considers suspicious.
If I do a scan of I: drive, why do I get reports of files on C: drive in the results as if they are on the I: drive?

Hello Dave,

I understand your concern. Scan Report files are saved in one of the following locations:
Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\AVG\Antivirus\report
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVG\Antivirus\report
