Finish of Trial & now can't install or remove

Hello Alistair,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. On checking your account we could see that you have active product of AVG anti virus.  We would request you to remove previously installed AVG program traces from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Protection free.
Note:If you have installed any other Antivirus  programs like AVAST, NORTON, MCAFEE or KASPERSKY, Please uninstall it first to avoid conflicts when installing AVG.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe .
1.a) please ignore the restart and try to run the AVG clear: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe .
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.

I had the Trial version of AVG.
When my time finished I wished to revert to a earlier version of AVG.

I followed the comands to uninstall & remove.
In order to re-install.

But now all I get is Error Oxe001f98d

I used the AVG removal tool, any any other removal or reset tool.

Same error every time.

  1. Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
    4)Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.
    Note : Please use the AVG Remover tool mentioned on the article to uninstall the AVG program more effectively.
