Firefox keeps seizing up

Hi

I've installed AVG Tune Up and I was pleased with what it did until I now find that when I'm using Firefox it keeps seizing up.  When I do a search the wotsit just keeps going round and round and if I try another tab nothing happens.  I have to cntrl/Alt/delete to shut the program down and then flash up firefox again.

When I do that AVG tells me that it's woken Firefox up (even though I've told it to ignore Firefox) and that it will wake it up again when I close it down.

If you had put Firefox to sleep in AVG TuneUp settings, please wake it up and ignore it.
Open AVG TuneUp, click Speed Up.
Click Background applications and programs.
Scroll down to see the list of programs that were put to sleep.
If Firefox is in that list, please click Wake against it.
