Firewall block Ubuntu vm from updating from repositories

AVG firewall should block Ubuntu vm from updating.
Check if the AVG Internet Security is up to date updated.
Restart the PC and check if you are able to update with firewall on.
If the issue persist, share us the screenshot of the pop you receive.

I googled this issue with AVG and found this link:

Did AVG ever fix it? 
When I turned off AVG firewall, i can update Ubuntu via their repositories.
