Firewall blocking homegroup access

We can look into this and get it sorted.
Did you disable AVG Firewall to confirm that it is causing the issue?
If yes, set "network profile" to "private" by following below mentioned steps"
1) Open  AVG Internet Security interface.
2) Click on "Menu–>Settings–>Components–>Enhanced Firewall–>Customize".
3) Click on "Network Profiles", to the right click on the network connection and change the profile to "Private" if it is set to "Public".
Check the status with "homegroup access" and let us know the result.

AVG hacker protection (firewall) is blocking my 2 computers communicating and sharing files via homegroup. What do I need to change to let them talk to each other?
