Firewall blocks NAS connection in windows 10 pro

Yesterday I downloaded a malware/trojan (I should of known better but I was desperate for a program I saw) anyway, I had install my business subscription to the pc.  After I installed Internet security business AVG I scanned my infected folders and cured them.  What I noticed was, I saw my attached "NAS storage drives" go from connected to disconnected then diagnosed the issue and found out that the winsock registry was missing.  Of course I did winsock fixes but no luck, I can browse the internet but I cannot pull my NAS storage drives that I mapped in windows explorer.  I'm able to ping the ip of the NAS but not the name of the NAS.
After 3 system restores prior to the virus infection, I finally figured out it was AVG Firewall causing the issue.  I uninstalled AVG and I have no problems seeing my NAS drives mapped.
I paid for the subscription and it was helpful for my issue but what do I do about this?
