Firewall connection

For a week now I've been trying to fix this. After an update, my internet connection speed dropped drastically. Like from 200 mbps to .5 at best. I've narrowed the problem down to the firewall, turning that off puts me back to at least 150. But I cant figure out why, precisely, this is even happening to such a gratuitous extent. All settings are at default across the board, fresh install.

We apologize for the inconvenience. This isn't the usual behaviour of the AVG Firewall component.
First, please make sure that there aren't any other antivirus software installed in your computer other than AVG.
Secondly, repair your AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article, restart your computer once.
Also, if you have AVG Secure VPN enabled while this issue occurs, please change it's server/location and check for the issue.
