May I ask you whether you are trying to add exceptions by navigating this way (AVG Internet Security > Menu > Settings > Components > Enhanced Firewall > Applications rules)? If yes, let us know whether you choose 'New Group' or 'New Application' (which appears at the bottom right corner of Application rules page).
How do i make an exception in the Firewall? I'm pretty sure i found the way to actually make the exception but everytime i try to look for the program to click on it, it won't show up in the search

Dionte, please click on "Customize", next to Enhanced Firewall and in that you can find an option "Policies -> Packet Rules -> Add > you can add your application/ IP address or port numbers" here. This is another easiest way to add an Exception.
