Hello Veeramani,
Apoligies for taking so long to repy to your suggestions, which I thank you for. The steps didn't help, but it turned out that my network had somehow become untrusted. Once I reset it to trusted my problem was solved.

In the past few days I've been unable to connect to my Synology NAS unless I temporarily disable my AVG firewall. Prior to that I had no problems. Any ideas please as to why this problem has suddenly appeared?
