To send us the Firewall Diagnostic information please follow the below mentioned instructions:
1) Click this link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/avgfwdiag2014_en.exe to download the file avgfwdiag2014_en.exe.
2) Open the downloaded file, and then click Install. A text file with instructions and a window with the AVG Firewall Diagnostic files will open in a few moments.
3) Open the file avgfwdiagx.exe. A console window will open.
4) In the console window type "5", and then press Enter. The tool will collect diagnostic information.
5) Once all files are collected, a window with the diagnostic file will open. The file name is typically "avgfwdiag_[date]_[time].zip".
6) Attach the diagnostic file to your response to this email.

When I try and run this it does absolutely nothing.
All you need to do is supply an installer WITH A SIGNED FILTER DRIVER to fix the issue because clearly the firewall isn't running/can't run without this component?
Why do you find this so hard to do? Are you another company that just ignores such serious issues with your software hoping no-one is going to notice?

Right, this morning I get the above issue AGAIN. Following the fix instructions on this site DO NOT FIX THE ISSUE. On reinstalling I get AN ERROR RELATING TO THE FILTER DRIVER BEING UNSIGNED.
COME ON AVG. TWO WELL KNOWN AND WELL DOCUMENTED ERRORS STILL PRESENT AFTER THREE YEARS.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I have better things to do with my time than fix your mistakes. I'm getting MORE THAN fed up with this software going wrong so often.

Hi Jim, please let me know if you are still using the AVG 2012 version. I request you to install AVG 2015 version as per Balasubramanian steps and check if the issue has been fixed. IT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY UNTIL SOME IGNORANT HALFWIT WENT AND FORCED 2015 ON ME WITHOUT ASKING.

It just does nothing. Starts as laid out above then after clicking accept it vanishes. No error message nor anything else to show for it.

Jim, I understand your frustration. Do you receive any error message when you try to run the Sysinof tool?
After repeated attempts neither of these programs will run. Tried in safe mode which didn't do anything either and also tried changing the compatability settings and no good there either.
If I do that it does NOT give me the option to continue anyway and the filter driver is blocked from being installed which in turn sends the firewall into an endless restart loop. Disabling or uninstalling it doesn't do anything to fix the issue.
I've been through every trick I can think of and it just will not go any further than the "accept" screen.
