Firewall settings to allow wireless display adapter

We're so glad to hear that, Chuka.
If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for the info, Chuka.

Please follow the below steps and check if that helps. Else, share the screenshot of error message you receive to check and assist you further.

Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Full Protection -> Enhanced Firewall -> make sure all the network profiles should be in Private and then click on "System Rules" on the same page -> set all the task to "Enabled".

Hi Chuka,

We will help you with this.

Are you using AVG AntiVirus free or AVG Internet Security? If you could confirm the version of AVG, we will proceed accordingly.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've seen another thread on how to ensure that the wireless display will work through the firewall. With the firewall off, it is not a problem. AVG blocks the connectivity.

I have tried following the instructions in the post with the same name as this but it doesn't work.

Please advise - surely there should be a fix for this by now?

Thanks

Doesnt this:

"Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Full Protection -> Enhanced Firewall -> make sure all the network profiles should be in Private and then click on "System Rules" on the same page -> set all the task to "Enabled".

fix essentially bypass everything in the firewall effectively rendering it nearly non-existent?

Hi Tom,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
As we're uncertain about the exact post to which you refer, would you be so kind to help us with the weblink of it?
Also, let us know the version of AVG installed on your computer (To check this : Open AVG - Menu - About).

Wow, This worked! Failed on the first attempted (didnt have all the System rules set to enabled) and tried this again. Working as we speak. Thanks very much!

Hi, I'm using AVG Internet Security.
Software version: 19.6.3098 (build 19.5.4444.507)
Virus definition version: 190627-0
UI Version: 1.0.171

I'm still having this issue please. Thanks!

Hello Jon,
We will clarify that to you.
If you are sure about your network profile, please change that specifc network from public to private instead of changing all the unknown networks to private. By doing this, you will be protected by the firewall from all other unknown networks.
Thank you for your understanding.

AVG Community

that's the post he's talking about. I'm currently having the same problem and this link didn't fix it.

Disabling AVG altogether does. So how do I fix this?
