First Install on 8.1

I think your suggestions would have worked.  I was checking down through the list and found a McAfee program set still on the computer.  Which could have conflicted with the AVG.  I had erased McAfee, but there were apparently two programs.  After I erased the last McAfee, my WIFI no longer worked.  Tried all the usual fixes; the computer's self diagnostics says that there may be problems with my WIFI driver.  Hmmm.  Was working perfectly until I erased McAfee-I suspect they gave me a "parting gift" by erasing my WIFI drivers.  I've replaced both McAfee and Norton with AVG over the years because of weird problems and the slowing of my computer.

So…once I get the new computer working again, I'll retry loading AVG.

Thanks, again, for your help.

Dave, McAfee… Did you download & run the total removal tool… (http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe)?.

I've used the a paid version of AVG on my computer for years.  I just got a new touch screen PC with 8.1 for my wife and tried to install the free version.  Got Error code 0xC0070643, MSI Engine: Failedto install the product.  @AVGMSI_Error27046.

I've tried installing twice.

What do I need to do?

Dave, Have a look @ these 2 articles…
