Hello Russ, I do understand your concern. I have checked your account, you have purchased only AVG Internet security. May i know where are you getting this pop up? Thank you.

Russ, The pop-up shown in this link (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000D4YMAA0) is not from AVG.

I have 3 paid-for and 1 free (2015) installations.
Can you explain to me why :-
1 - On the one paid-for that has(had) the pop-up, clearing options>advanced settings>system tray notifications>boot time improvement notifications and AVG advisor notifications, eliminated the pop-up.
and
2 - On the free installation, uninstalling AVG has eliminated the pop-up. (Incidentally, the AVG removal tool does not completely eradicate AVG as claimed. I have run it and the disc is littered with AVG folders and files)

I too am getting this pop-up on a paid-for, tune-up free, installation. Now that AVG have imposed an anonymous pop-up, which all will assume is a rogue the like of which AVG should prevent, it seems to me that AVG have contravened their corporate mission and are therefore henceforth completely untrustworthy. Once this gets spread around, and it will, I predict AVG will have difficulty expanding their customer base and, moreover, customers like me will desert them in droves and AVG will eventually disappear - deservedly so !
